Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation Donates $7,500 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley in Fresno, CA

IRVING, TX and FRESNO, CA (December 7, 2023) – The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and KSEE/KGPE-TV, the Nexstar Media Inc. television stations serving Fresno, CA, and the surrounding area, today announced that the Foundation will donate $7,500 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley (RMHC Central Valley).

Since 1984, RMHC Central Valley has been proving hundreds of families with all the comforts of home when their child is hospitalized at the adjacent Valley Children’s Hospital. In 2022, they were able to help 126 families with resources and overnight stays in their 18-bedroom facility.  Families staying at the RMHC Central Valley also get to eat a warm, home cooked meal after a long day of enduring a stressful hospital environment. Families that do not have an overnight stay room can rest, shower, and enjoy a home cooked meal through a “Day Room Pass.”

Commenting on the contribution, J.R. Jackson, Vice President and General Manager of KSEE-TV/KGPE TV said: “Giving back to the communities served by Nexstar across the country is core to the company’s mission, and we are honored that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making this donation in recognition of the deep relationship between KSEE/KGPE and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley Inc.”

“Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Valley is most appreciative of this generous donation from the Nexstar Foundation,” Dr. Kent Karsevar, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley. “The relationship between RMHC Central Valley and KSEE24/KGPE47 is vital to our mission of providing a ‘Home away from Home’ and resources for the families of hospitalized children. Your gift will allow RMHC to continue providing families with a comforting and supportive environment during challenging times. Your commitment to our cause is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity and for being a valuable part of our RMHC Central Valley family.”

The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar Media and its subsidiaries do business. The foundation was originally established in 1958 and it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.
